Loopia is acquired by the private equity firm Axcel

The private equity firm Axcel acquires Loopia from the current owner Visma. Axcel sees great growth opportunities in the form of new product launches and future acquisitions in new and existing markets for Loopia, Sweden’s market-leading web hosting company.

Loopia has grown every year since the company was founded in 1999 and today helps more than 225,000 companies and individuals to succeed on the Internet in Sweden, Norway and Serbia. With Axcel as the new owner, the ambition is to invest further in new products and services in combination with acquisitions in existing and new markets.

John Hugosson, former Division Manager for Visma Hosting and nowadays CEO of Loopia and its sister companies in Active 24, says:

– For us it is a perfect time to get a partner like Axcel. With their vast experience in increasing the growth of technology companies, organic as well as through acquisitions, they can help us realize our strategic plans. I am convinced that together we can lift Loopia to an even higher level.

Jimmie Eriksson, CEO of Loopia, explains further:

– After several years of improved profitability and strong growth, the next step in our development is to offer our customers more useful and demanded services, while we will continuously evaluate several acquisitions in existing and new markets.

Loopia has had a very positive development in recent years by successfully consolidating existing platforms, improving profitability and increasing organic growth. The company has also proven that they can increase profitability through acquisitions.

– John Hugosson and the team in Loopia have made the company grow while creating a scalable platform that works for strong organic growth as well as through acquisitions, says Christian Bamberger Bro, Partner and responsible for the investment at Axcel. There is great potential for further growth through increased sales of value-added extra services to existing customers and further expansion through consolidation, particularly in existing markets, but also in new geographic markets in Europe. We look forward to realizing the company’s strategy together with John and his team, Bamberger Bro concludes.
